Ways we help make your night a safer and more enjoyable one


  • Alcohol sales to cease at midnight for 10mintues and free bottles of water supplied to patrons, this period is known as "Smart Shout"
  • Free Dominos pizza to be distributed in conjunction with the Smart Shout
  • 1.30am lockout from the venue
  • Removal of high strength RTD and spirits from sale
  • Free courteously bus proved at the end of the night
  • Dedicated RSA Marshalls to monitor patrons throughout the night
  • No shots, doubles or bombs to be served
  • Water stations at each bar
  • Any person who is witnessed by licensed premises staff to be drinking or in possession of alcohol prior to attempting to gain entry to their premises will be refused entry
  • Licensed premises staff to decant all bottled or canned alcohol into open, non-breakable receptacles at least one hour prior to their licensed closing times
  • Licensees and licensed premises staff to ensure no unopened containers are sold after 10pm.
  • From 1am until close of business, no drink (whether it not it contains liquor) is to be sold or supplied for consumption on premises in glass.
  • If any patron is asked to leave a licensed premises they must do so immediately. they must then maintain a minimum distance of 50 meters from the licensed premises or police will be called and fines given.
  • At the close of trade licensed premises security staff are to assist the dispersal of patrons from the immediate area. Security are then to maintain a presence on the street until all patrons have left the area.
  • A barring order exists in Newcastle. his order empowers licensed premises along with NSW liquor and gaming to bar persons from all licensed premises in the Newcastle area.
  • Licensed premises are to ensure all bottles and other alcohol containers are removed from an area of 100m radius from their premises within one hour of cease of trade.
